Carrigacat is traditional Irish Country Farmhouse Cottage and Barn located in the beautiful area of Goleen, Mizen Head, West Cork. It is perfect for families and all the extended members or just a group of friends as it is warm and comfortable, 3 bedroom farmhouse with a 1 bedroom cottage & a games room in the barn. So lots of space making it an ideal holiday home in West Cork for all the family.
Located just 2 miles from Goleen village, it is a traditional West Cork farmhouse, restored but with much of its original details, it has all the modern facilities such as fitted Kitchens, Orthopaedic Beds, Showers and Bath, the must have Internet, spacious Lounge, SKY TV and of course an open Irish fire place. On sunny days you can sit our and enjoy a barbeque, and with a large area of garden, with fuchsia, escallonia, brambles, wild flowers, heather and furze, lots of freedom for the children or adults alike. The house faces out towards Barleycove and this beautiful beach area of sandy beach ideal for enjoying a stroll, swim or water activities on. The Mizen Head area is Ireland’s most south westerly point and has a beautiful rugged landscape of accessible mountains, cliffs, sandy beaches, small rocky fields & friendly villages
Although Carrigacat seems in a world of its own a five minute trip in the car takes you down to the stunning Barleycove Beach, Stony Beach, Cockle Strand and Chimney Strand. Another 5 minutes takes you to the cosmopolitan village, Crookhaven or the village caught in time, Goleen. The Mizen peninsula has world class scenery with cliffs, sandy beaches and small villages. None more spectacular than Mizen Head with the outstanding visitor attraction, Mizen Head Signal Station.
